Abstract

The evolution of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has revolutionized communication methodologies, offering swifter and enhanced channels for efficient data storage, retrieval, and processing. It facilitates seamless information exchange and utilization across various sectors, encompassing individuals, groups, businesses, organizations, and governments. What initially started as a method to expedite and enhance textual analysis has matured into a versatile tool for data processing and tabulation, substantially aiding decision-making processes. This transformation has motivated an increasing number of individuals and entities to adapt their practices to harness the myriad benefits of ICT. This article delves into examining citizen-centric e-governance practices in India, scrutinizing the challenges and prospects inherent in these initiatives. By contrasting these practices with those implemented in more developed nations, the article proposes improved strategies for advancing citizen-centric e-governance in India.
