Abstract

Shashi Tharoor brilliantly and succinctly summarises his arguments and insights about India in his noted work India Shastra. He staunchly feels that, despite all the trials and tribulations and the vagaries of history, India has a tremendous future. He narrates various problems faced by independent India quite lucidly. He is of the astute belief that India is a sleeping giant; once India gets out of its slumber, nothing can prevent the country from becoming a superpower in the 21st century.
