On Being a Teacher

Abstract

The present paper is a personal introspection into my journey as a teacher over the last 29 years. The challenges and obstacles faced by teaching as a profession are far more intricate and vexatious than of old times. But the significance of the profession in nation building has only gone up over the years. The present paper is a candid and fervent endeavour to unravel some of the attributes that go into the making of a great and inspiring teacher.
